Enrichment

At Staples Road, we believe in developing the whole child, in line with our Values, and to do this we often take learning opportunities beyond the classroom. We always look for opportunities to make use of the forest with in the curriculum and have regular Forest School sessions in Reception, Year 1 and year 2.

We also value play and see this time as a vital daily opportunity for children to develop a range of social and physical skills. We are an OPAL school [which stands for Outdoor Play and Learning] and are constantly looking at ways we can improve and enhance provision out doors.

Pupil Passports aim to ensure children carry out a range of  'must do' activities during their time at Staples Road. These again promote the development of the 'whole child' and the qualities we feel all children should have to be successful. The passports follow the children up through the school and include activities such as climbing a tree, making a piece of art for an exhibition or having a water fight.
